1. Work
towards your goals.
This is a very important first
step as in order to become successful you must set and then
work towards your goals. Decide what you want to achieve in
both the short and long term and then plan out how you are
going to get there. Your goals will ultimately help you to
decide what type of internet marketing to pursue, whether it
be affiliate marketing, product creation or another medium.
2. Set up a
daily work schedule.
After talking to many people
struggling to make money online, it has become apparent that
they all have one common downfall. They have no daily plan.
In other words, they sit in front of their computer,
browsing through websites and opportunities and don’t get
anything done. You must make the best use of the time you
have and make every second count by determining your daily
activities. Decide what the most important factors are for
your online business, concentrate on them and then if you
can, outsource the rest. (see point 5)
3. Find
something that works and then repeat the process.
If you have established a
technique that makes you money, whether it be $10 or $1000,
stick with it and repeat the process. Intensify, repeat and
improve the successful areas of your business and you will
substantially increase your online income.
4. Learn it yourself.
Another important point, and
this is especially relevant when starting up, is to try and
learn how to do things yourself. Ok, you can outsource areas
like programming or writing, but you really don’t want to
have to rely on others to make simple changes to your
website. Relying on others is inconvenient, and more
importantly, expensive!
5. Outsource and concentrate
on improving your business.
Yes, I know I’m contradicting
myself a little here but you can only do so much and learn
so much. Whether it be technical or otherwise, be sure to
bring in the right people when you need to. The problem that
many people have is that they try and do everything
themselves, which, although good because it saves money,
distracts them from more important aspects of their
operation. The saying is “Work on your business not
in your business”.
